Sam Elliott

With qualifications in both planning and heritage, combined with experience working with a range of heritage assets, Sam has the expertise to guide heritage sensitive developments, of various scales, through the planning process.

BA (Hons) Philosophy & Religion – University of Sheffield

MSc Historic Conservation – Oxford Brookes University

Member of the Royal Town Planning Institute

Sam forms part of our in-house heritage team and holds master’s degrees in both Urban Planning and Historic Conservation. He obtained distinctions for his postgraduate research into the reordering of St Mary de Crypt - a medieval church in Gloucester - as well as the conservation of post war new towns in the 21st century.

Having worked with a wide range of heritage assets, Sam has the expertise to guide heritage sensitive developments, of various scales, through the planning process.

Sam has worked across numerous development sectors, including advising homeowners, national high street operators, Local Planning Authorities, as well as major pubs and breweries. He has also provided heritage advice on large-scale residential developments, including support through Historic England’s Enhanced Advisory Services. Sam's skill sets lie in the reporting, guidance and processes from appraisal to planning stage. He has a particular interest in preparing Heritage Townscape and Visual Impact Assessments. 

Outside of work, Sam regularly plays 7 a side football and is a keen Arsenal fan.
