Planning Potential secures planning permission for a new Tesla Supercharger facility, delivering EV charging bays on a brownfield site in Chichester

The application site comprised a small parcel of previously developed land within an established employment area, most recently occupied by a temporary car wash use.
The proposal faced policy resistance due to its location within an employment area, with the Council seeking clear evidence that the site was no longer required for employment use. Planning Potential developed a clear and robust planning case which demonstrated that the site did not constitute an established or safeguarded employment site, instead making the case that the infrastructure supported the day-to-day operation and resilience of the wider employment area in line with national policy objectives for low carbon growth.
Planning Potential were able to unlock this underutilised site within an employment areas, combining policy-led justification, technical evidence and proactive engagement to overcome policy concerns and secure a positive outcome.
