Elliot Jones

A chartered town planner with over twenty years’ experience working on a wide variety of projects in different sectors across the UK.

Elliot is a chartered town planner with over twenty years’ experience. This includes time at national planning and development practices, multi-disciplinary engineering consultancies and in the public sector.  He joined Planning Potential in 2022 following a period at Homes England in their Central and Southwest Development Team, prior to that Elliot led the Cardiff Office of Boyer Planning for five years.

He has worked on a wide variety of projects across the UK but with a particular focus on the Southwest, Wales and the Midlands. This has included acting for a range of developers, occupiers, and landowners within the residential, hospitality and commercial sectors. Clients have included several national and regional housebuilders, a national coffee shop operator and a major pub operator.

Elliot is an experienced team and project leader having prepared strategic studies, promoted sites for residential development, managed estate expansion programmes and submitted major planning applications for a range of uses. He also has extensive experience as an expert witness as part of both Local Plan examinations and at s78 appeals.  Allied to this, Elliot has also had recent experience leading large residential multi-disciplinary projects from the client side.

Outside of the office, Elliot spends much of his time taking his children to various sporting activities and, when time permits, cycling around the lanes of Monmouthshire and undertaking DIY projects.
