Permission secured for a roof terrace and biodiverse wildflower meadow at a prominent corner site.

Securing permission for roof terraces is notoriously tricky. Following an appeal of an earlier scheme which set the parameters we recently managed to secure permission for a terrace for our client incorporating glazed balustrading, an accessible rooflight, a large seating area, and a pretty wildflower meadow on the roof of the building.

Our client’s garden is often in the shade and the terrace area will allow them to enjoy the sun (when it shines!) all day long.

We were able to prove that there would be no adverse impacts on surrounding residents, and demonstrated alongside Stephen Evans Architecture, that despite the prominent location of the building, the views from street level and surrounding properties would be minimal.

The application was approved in an 8 week period.
