Defector’s Weld, Young and Co's

LB Hammersmith and Fulham

Planning Potential have secured permission for an extended and enhanced customer courtyard at the Defector’s Weld, a classic community pub located in the heart of Shepherd’s Bush

Through making the best use of existing outbuildings and extending the customer courtyard, the external space offered at this pub has been transformed.  As part of a trend seen in the post Covid world the need to optimise pubs and their customer offer has been secured.

Planning Potential had positive pre-application discussions with Hammersmith and Fulham on the scheme and fully addressed all comments raised.

We applied for a consent which was initially given overly restrictive opening hours conditions following comments from Environmental Health. Planning Potential worked closely with the client and consultant team on a robust resubmission. This was approved thereby allowing the much-needed additional customer areas for the public house and ensuring its future viability.

The associated external alterations were sensitively designed to ensure they were appropriate for the site’s location in the Sheppard’s Bush Conservation Area.
