Planning Potential Celebrates 20th Anniversary and Announces Leadership Changes

Planning Potential, the renowned planning consultancy founded by Helen Cuthbert in 2005, is proud to celebrate its 20th anniversary this year. Marking two decades of growth and innovation, the company continues to evolve, having successfully transitioned to a 100% employee-owned business in 2024.
As part of this strategic transition, several leadership changes have been announced to ensure the company's continued success and expansion.
New Leadership Structure:
- Stuart Slatter has been promoted to Managing Director, leading the business into its next phase.
- Elliot Jones, Katie Turvey, and Alastair Close will take seats on the Board, reinforcing a strong leadership team.
- Helen Cuthbert, the company's founder, will step down from her MD role but will remain on the board, continuing to represent and champion the business.
Internal Promotions & External Appointments
Reflecting the company's commitment to recognising talent and fostering growth, four key internal promotions to Director level have been made:
- Sam Deegan
- Heather Vickers
- Paul Galgey
- Niall Hanrahan
These promotions acknowledge their outstanding expertise, client retention, and contributions to business growth.
Additionally, Emma Wells has been appointed as Heritage Director in Harrogate, strengthening Planning Potential’s heritage team and expanding its reach in the North. Emma joins in May.
Several key members of staff have also been promoted across various offices. Charlotte Perry, who is based in the Harrogate office, has been promoted to Associate Director. Charlotte originally joined the business in 2011 and has worked in both our Harrogate and London offices. After a short break, she rejoined the business in 2020 back into the Harrogate office.
James Baker and Henry Hodgson have been promoted to Senior Planner, recognised for their planning expertise and dedication to client relationship building in the London and Harrogate offices respectively.
Finally, Georgie Gray has been promoted from Finance Assistant to Company Secretary in recognition of her outstanding work in finance and governance for all Board, Director, and Trustee meetings.
As Planning Potential enters its 20th year, these strategic changes position the company for sustained growth, innovation, and continued excellence in planning consultancy.
