Planning Permission Secured for New Aldi Business Model

11 October 2016

The foodstore was secured as part of a hybrid application, following extensive, two-year negotiations with Wakefield Council.

Planning Potential secured consent for Aldi Stores Ltd to amend the footprint and car park layout of their second foodstore within Castleford.

The foodstore was secured as part of a hybrid application, following extensive, two-year negotiations with Wakefield Council. Since the original consent, Aldi’s business model has evolved, requiring a larger store format in order to meet customer expectations.

A Section 73 application was submitted, to seek permission for the amended store format. Working closely with Wakefield Council on sequential matters, following the recent Aldi Mansfield decision, Planning Potential was able to secure permission. Development is expected to commence on site shortly.
