Sustainability

Our team specialises in advising clients on the requirements for development projects in the rapidly evolving sustainability policy climate. We are one of the few consultancies actively involved in development schemes targeted at Levels 5 & 6 of the Code for Sustainable Homes.

We ensure that sustainability measures are, where necessary and appropriate, integrated early in the design process of new projects to ensure clients are not faced by unforeseen viability considerations at the application stage. We provide tactical advice on the appropriate response to local planning authorities approaches to sustainability. This includes:

• Producing sustainability statements to support planning applications
• Assessing measures of mitigation where necessary/appropriate
• Presentations on sustainability policy and design to facilitate a greater understanding of this area and promote the Sustainability credentials of projects to planning authorities
• Identifying and promoting the circumstances where sustainable design can play a key role in unlocking the potential of more contentious sites, and how this can be used to help secure consent
