Katy Lister

Katy gained experience in a number of different planning roles before joining Planning Potential, and she has built up an impressive track record. Her skills and experience are evident in the quality of work she produces and in the outcomes she achieves.

Katy joined Planning Potential in January 2020 as an Assistant Planner. Having gained her chartership in March 2022, she is now a Planner based within the residential team. During her time at Planning Potential she has worked on a number of different projects ranging in size from several bespoke dwellings to major mixed-use schemes. Her latest involvements include 58 units and commerical floorspace in Greenwich which gained a resolution to grant planning permission in the summer of 2022, reserved matters for 253 units in Braintree and an estate regeneration scheme in Lambeth. She has increased her understanding and knowledge of the planning system by undertaking site appraisals, preparing and submitting planning applications and appeals and preparing representations for site promotion for a broad range of clients. She has also gained sound experience in coordinating and managing wider consultant teams.  

Katy graduated from the University of Sheffield with a Masters in Town and Regional Planning, and also has a BSC (Hons) in Geography from Sheffield Hallam University. Before joining Planning Potential, she gained experience in a small private consultancy in London with a focus on permitted development rights and householder applications.

Outside of the office, Katy enjoys trying out new bars and restaurants in and around London with friends and family. She also enjoys a number of different sports including netball, swimming and skiing.
