An approachable and accomplished planner with extensive public and private sector experience, Katie is able to develop planning strategies for clients and provide succinct advice on the prospects of securing planning permission for a range of uses.

Applying her 20 years planning experience, Katie provides advice and support on a wide range of planning matters. Prior to joining Planning Potential in 2008, she worked at a town planning practice, which later merged with a specialist planning law and consultancy firm based in Leicester. Before moving into the private sector, Katie worked as a planning policy assistant and monitoring officer in local government.

Katie’s skills lie in providing clients with succinct advice on the prospects of securing planning permission and developing planning strategies for a range of uses, as well as coordinating and preparing applications and appeals. She is a proficient writer, capable of preparing compelling evidence-based appeal statements and representing clients at hearings. Through managing a number of client portfolios and fast-paced site roll outs, Katie has also built up considerable project management, organisational and negotiation skills.

Katie’s experience covers a broad range of projects, particularly in the leisure and hospitality, care and education, and high-end residential sectors. She also has extensive experience dealing with heritage and enforcement matters.

When she’s not working, Katie enjoys spending time with her family and putting her baking and creative skills to good use.
