Dan leads Planning Potential’s Bristol office and has worked as a planning consultant for over twenty years. During his time in private practice, he has worked on a variety of high profile schemes, including the development of the Cabot Circus and Temple Quay schemes in Bristol City Centre and the St. David’s 2 retail scheme in Cardiff. Dan has also acted for major foodstore, residential and commercial developers, helping to secure planning permission for various retail and commercial schemes across the South West and South Wales. He has a detailed knowledge of relevant national and local planning issues, enabling him to provide sound advice to clients seeking to deliver development proposals or influence planning policy.

Dan has worked across multi-disciplinary teams to deliver complex projects, environmental statements, retail assessments and has spent time on secondment with a local planning authority assisting with the preparation of their local plan. He also has extensive experience as an expert witness as part of both core strategy examinations, local plan inquiries and S78 public inquiries. Dan has worked closely with both counsel and other specialist disciplines to secure permission through the appeal process.

Outside of the office, Dan is an enthusiastic runner, a dedicated cyclist and a fair weather motorcyclist.
