Planning Potential secures permission for our 10th Metro Bank store

18 September 2018

We are delighted to have secured planning permission for a new Metro Bank in Nottingham, our tenth new store for Metro Bank!

The scheme has been extremely challenging due to complex internal levels and layout. The site is in a conservation area and adjoins a listed building, raising heritage and design considerations. Working closely with officers and key stakeholders, we successfully promoted a scheme that retains the building envelope and also secures a more efficient internal layout to meet modern requirements. The shopfront was sensitively designed to respect the original building, whilst delivering Metro Bank's key branding principles. By front-loading the application, we also ensured that the permission does not have any pre-start conditions, assisting Metro Bank’s fit-out programme.

Metro Bank are the UK’s first new high street bank in over 100 years, providing both retail and commercial banking services, with a core focus of providing exceptional and unparalleled customer service. We have been acting for Metro Bank since 2014, securing consents in a variety of locations, and are delighted to reach this illustrious milestone.
