Albert Road, New Barnet
Planning Potential is advising Asda stores on the comprehensive regeneration of land to the north of Albert Road, New Barnet. Significant mixed use development, to comprise a mixture of retail and residential uses, is proposed for the site.
We have been involved since the outset providing both strategic and detailed development control advice. In seeking to bring forward the site, we have forged strong relationships with the Council and as result have, in partnership, developed the New Barnet Town Centre Strategy.
The document sets out the strategy for rejuvenating the centre identifying the Gas depot as the most prominent development site in New Barnet, suitable for retail and leisure development. As such, this strategic partnership has help paved the way for the principle of development proposed.
The detailed design for the scheme is now evolving and as such we continue to liaise with Planning Officers, local politicians and the general public. We are co-ordinating the collation of the planning application and a submission is expected during the summer of 2008.
